"US Senate anti-IRI resolution disgraceful"

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani referred to a statement issued by the American Senate over recent developments in Iran, described it a hasty and disgraceful move. He added they revealed their real intention by issuing a resolution over family issue of the Iranian nation. Larijani stated that the quarrels in the Islamic Republic of Iran showed that there is freedom in the country. Referring to the black history of America in Iran, he said," You (Americans) supported for the Shah regime and did not let any body talk in Iran, imprisoned combatants, now how do you talk about freedom?" He added if there was not freedom in IRI, no one could go to the streets and talk about his/her opinion, and now there is no problem for those who have authorized to go to the streets. He added that the recent debates in Iran between candidates of the presidential elections were a proof of freedom in the country. Larijani said the American Senate's move was very disgraceful and had no effect but awareness of the people. The Iranian top parliamentarian further said the relations of the Iranian people are strong and religion has linked their hearts so that no foreigner and no velvet revolution could break the unity. He said there is no ground for a velvet revolution in the country because of the awareness the Iranians. Larijani added the Americans disgraced themselves by the move and the resolution would have no effect on the Iranians.
